Dr. Arun Kumar is a well-known, experienced spine surgeon practicing at Reva Spine Centre, Visakhapatnam. He has a remarkable 11 years of experience, he completed MBBS in Guntur and MS(Orthopaedics) in Nellore from the prestigious Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh.
After completion of his post-graduation, his passion and interest in spine surgery made him join and complete a clinical fellowship in spine surgery (Super Specialisation) at various well-recognized centers across India.

During the period of the fellowship, his research projects have won many accolades and awards in the international circuit. The most prestigious one among them is AOSpine International Discovery and Innovation Award received in 2019 in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Arun Kumar is the first and only spine surgeon from India to receive this award.
After completing his clinical training in spine surgery in India, he was awarded SICOT Fellowship in Paediatric Spinal Deformity at the Department of Scoliosis, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, the USA which is the biggest paediatric deformity (Scoliosis and Kyphosis) centre around the world. He was also awarded Indo-American Spine Alliance Fellowship in Endoscopic Spine Surgery & Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at University Hospitals, Cleveland, USA.
Dr Arun Kumar’s passion for research and academics has won him many international and national awards. His research on the adult spinal deformity classification system won him the Young Investigator Award from the Association of Spine Surgeons of India(ASSI) in the year 2017. He was also awarded Joy Patankar Gold Medal from Indian Orthopaedic Association for his research work on growth rod reconstruction in paediatric spinal deformity in the year 2018. At the same stage, he also received S.M Tuli Best Case Report Award for the publication on Refractory Tietze Syndrome. Dr Arun Kumar is the first and only spine surgeon from both the Telugu states to have received these awards. In the year 2020, he won the prestigious Vyaghreswarudu Gold Medal from the Andhra Pradesh State Orthopaedic Association. He was awarded the first-ever Prof HKT Raza Gold Medal Award in the year 2022 from Indian Orthopaedic Association for the research work on antibiotics to be used before spine surgery.
Dr Arun Kumar specialises in Complex Spinal Deformities – Scoliosis and Kyphosis Correction, Endoscopic Spine Surgery, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Fixation, Microdiscectomy, Occipitocervical Fixation, Cervical Laminoplasty, Cervical Pedicle Screw Fixation, Spinopelvic Fixation, Intradural Tumour Resection and other spinal disorders.
In the last 4 years, Dr Arun Kumar has published 12+ manuscripts in high-impact journals which are indexed, has presented 30+ lectures/talks in international and national conferences, and has written 4 book chapters on spinal disorders.
